About This Road Trip

Racing & Gaming
Whether you like horse racing or stock cars, Indiana’s east side is the place to go. The name of the game is harness racing at Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson, where you can play your favorite casino games in between races. Nearby at Anderson Speedway, there’s amazing asphalt racing on their historic quarter-mile oval every weekend. For most events, you can buy pit passes for a closer look at the stock cars.

For Sports & Rec Lovers
Pack your clubs so you can play a round at Crestview Golf Club in Muncie. There’s the 18-hole, par 71 championship course for the serious players and a 9-hole executive course for the more casual golfers in your group. And everyone can take a Mulligan, because that’s the name of their popular bar and grill. Relive Indiana’s glory days at The Historic Hoosier Gym in Knightstown. Just like in the movie, you can take a “granny” shot like Ollie, walk through the locker room where Coach Dale inspired the players or sit in the stands like the enthusiastic fans. Grab some outdoors at Zip Timber Lake in Huntington, featuring eight zip lines, four aerial bridges and climbing elements. You can also camp, fish and swim at Timber Lake.

True Destination Dining
Let’s face it, eating is a key part of travel! At Bonge’s Tavern in Perkinsville, the party is in the parking lot as customers tailgate prior to ordering chef-prepared favorites like chicken with shrimp and grits or fresh walleye. It’s a true farm-to-table experience at Joseph Decuis in Roanoke, the only restaurant in the U.S. raising Wagyu with traditional Japanese methods, resulting in the finest-tasting, healthiest beef. At The Neely House in Muncie, they’ve researched journals of the original owner of the house, replanted his orchard and gardens, and are serving chef-prepared meals. Get a true Hoosier meal at Nick’s Kitchen in Huntington, including a giant tenderloin and hand-dipped milkshake.

A Taste of the Region
Find your favorite during a tasting at Two EE’s Winery in Huntington, voted Indiana's #1 winery. The owners of Muncie’s Tonne Winery put their backgrounds in horticulture and food science to work when they began producing varietal wines. Now they’ve added hard ciders to their lineup. Lovers of puns will also love Bad Dad Brewery in Fairmount, featuring beers with names like Socks & Sandals, Irish Sunburn and Chip Off the Ol’ Block. Voted Indiana's #1 brewery, they also have great pizza. Oakley Brothers’ Distillery in Anderson handcrafts moonshine, whiskey, vodka and liqueur with grains grown on Indiana farms.

Shopping From Old to Just-Created
Richmond’s famous Antique Alley takes you to Indiana’s most diverse antique destinations. There are two different trails along the area’s highways and byways that take you to 900+ individual shops, dealers and malls. You can call ahead to tour America’s oldest art glass factory and take home pieces for gift-giving (even to yourself) at Kokomo Opalescent Glass. Choose from vases, paperweights, jewelry, ornaments and more.
